September 23

Anyone who is interested in joining PRHS’s 1st Majorette Team; try-outs will be tomorrow at 2:30 pm inside the Dance Studio.

September 20
Girls bowling practice is cancelled for today.  There will be practice at 4:00 pm on Monday.

PRHS’ Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) will be having our first meeting today in room B340.  See Ms. Walters for more details.  Snacks will be served.

There are two free historically black college and university events being held in the city. They offer college prep workshops, on-site admissions, paying for college workshops and much more. Please visit the College Office for information on how to register.


September 19

Attention all students interested in SING! Sign-ups and auditions are taking place today for freshman and juniors, and tomorrow for sophomores and seniors. Students are asked to please be prepared to sing a song, and or learn a dance routine. Auditions begin at 3:30 pm sharp in the auditorium. 

Attention seniors, College Information Night is tonight at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium. Hope to see you there!

Science Alliance will have their first meeting of the year tomorrow after 9th period in room B421. Please see Ms. Moretti with any questions.

Baseball tryouts begin today at 3:00 pm at the Richmond County Youth Complex. All student-athletes must have a complete medical and consent form on file to participate. If you have any questions, please see Coach Sce.

Be the change you want to see in your world!  Join the Helping Hands Club for our first interest meeting of the year tomorrow at 2:15 pm in room B340.  Get community service and make friends to last a lifetime!  All students are welcome and snacks will be provided.  Visit the Health Center for more details.

For any 10th and 11th grade student who is looking for an internship, please stop by the College Office for an application to intern at the Staten Island Children's Museum

The Debate Team will be holding their first meeting today in room B410 after 8th period.  If you are interested in joining, see Ms. Flynn or Mr. Baldo.

Attention AP students, your AP contract is past due. The deadline is today. If you have any questions, please stop by the College Office, Room B233.

There will be a meeting for all returning varsity and JV basketball players, and anyone interest in playing girls basketball this year today at 2:45 pm in room B355.

Attention All Raiders... the Color Wars here at Port Richmond are now in full effect! Students are encouraged to participate in school events, activities, fundraising, and of course academic challenges to help your team win the war.  Be sure to keep up with the score on our social media, and look for t-shirts coming soon! There are two color war certified events to win this month and they are the MADD Walk and the White Party Dance.

Any students interested in traveling to Japan in February should see Ms. Duffy in room B319.  The price will increase by $75 on October 1st, and enrollment closes October 26th.

Any girls interested in joining the girls’ varsity swim team should see Ms. Duffy in room B319.  

Attention all Raiders.  We invite ALL Raiders to sign up, raise funds, and or participate in the annual Mothers Against Drunk Driving Walk at Clove Lakes Park this Sunday, September 15th, at 9:00 am.  It is a color war certified event.  The team that raises the most money, and shows up for the walk will win the first challenge in the war, and community service hours.  To sign up, see Mr. Medugno in B231, or Ms. Miller in B144

Attention seniors.  A representative from the College of Staten Island's Macaulay Honors and Verrazano Program will be here to meet with students in the College Office on Friday, September 13th during 7th period.  Reserve your spot for this Rep Visit on your Naviance account.  If you need a pass, please see Ms. Vassallo in Room B233.

Attention all students.  It's that time of the year SING is back!  You do not have to be ONLY a performing arts student to be involved.  We need artists, actors, singers, dancers, organized people, and those who wish to get involved with something to be part of this exciting and friendly competition among grades as part of our Color Wars.  If you wish to find our more info on this year’s SING program, please feel free to stop by the auditorium for a meeting tomorrow at 2:20 pm.  We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the JV football team on their victory over McKee-Staten Island Tech by a score of 30 to 20.  Michael Reyes, and Keenan Kinard both had 2 touchdowns.

September 6

There will be a brief meeting for all 9th and 10th grade girls interested in joining the girls’ J.V. volleyball team today in Gym 4.  For further information, see Coach Lee in Gym 4 periods 5 through 8.

Attention all Freshman - Welcome to your new home! We are celebrating you today during 9th period with a Freshman Ice Cream Social.  Be sure to report to your 9th period class, and your teachers will escort you down to the event.  This is brought to you by your student government!  We are also looking for our 9th grade leaders to be on the student council.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Medugno or one of the student government representatives at the social to sign up.
