Our students enjoy the small learning environment and personalization afforded to them by our 6 Smaller Learning Communities.
Freshman Academy

 The Port Richmond High School Freshmen Academy provides a culture of rigorous academic standards, programs and supports that address unique student needs. This Academy ensures that all students enjoy a successful and positive transition from 8th grade into high school. Freshmen students enjoy a personalized learning experience with teachers dedicated to providing strong instruction within a personalized learning environment. 
 
 
TV and Media Arts Academy


Students in Port Richmond’s Television and Media Arts Academy follow a sequence of specialized courses in Communication and Media Arts within the framework of the New York State and New York City requirements for high school graduation and college readiness. Courses emphasizes reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while nurturing and developing students’ creativity in print and video production media. Students engage in a comprehensive curriculum in all aspects of television and video production, including screenwriting, directing, camerawork (three-camera technique), sound and light production, video and film editing, and on-screen personality presentation. Advanced students will spearhead and direct the production of a weekly television show and will mentor beginners. This senior level TV/Media course will be the culmination of both television/film and journalism studies. Students broadcast their own television show, "Good Morning Port Richmond!" every week from our own studio!
 
 
Institute of Business, Hospitality, Entrepreneurship & Technology

IBHET is the program for students interested in becoming Donald Trump's next apprentice! Students in IBHET learn about business, entrepreneurship, finance, economics and technology through a task based curriculum and hands-on activities.Students in the Virtual Enterprise program run a "virtual" company learning the many components that work to make a business successful. The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Pathway teaches students the aspects of travel, tourism and hospitality.
 
Culinary Arts Academy

Port Richmond High School’s Culinary Arts program is an academically rigorous four year program in which our students explore the culinary arts and prepare for college, graduating with Regents and Advanced Regents diplomas. Our partnerships with organizations such as C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts) and ProStart, the curriculum for the New York State Restaurant Association, allow us to offer our students various opportunities to visit colleges and culinary schools; in addition, our students participate in internships and job shadowing in world class restaurants, such as Jean George, Nobu 57 and Lexington Brass, to prepare them for possible careers in the culinary arts. Our program also offers students many opportunities to give back to the school and to our community through working in our student run Raider Café. Through competitions, our upperclassmen have been awarded full scholarships to prestigious colleges and culinary schools such as the Culinary Institute of America, the French Culinary Institute, New York City Tech, and Monroe College.
 
 
 
Collegiate & Gateway Honors Academy

The Collegiate and Gateway Honor Academy provides students with rigorous academic programs in the world of Math & Science as well as the Humanities.  Students in the Gateway Honors program typically seek careers in health, medicine, engineering and science related fields. Students in the Collegiate Academy program are more focused on the Humanities and typically continue to study in Pre-Law and Humanities programs in college.
 
 
Medical Technology Academy

The Medical Technology Academy offers multi-faceted curriculum and extra-curricular approaches to medical technology education.  Students enjoy a "hands on" approach to learning through lab experiences in our dedicated medical technology laboratory.
